THRILLYARD 200 To Light Up Night of Racing
Anderson, Ind.– May 31, 2012–Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will continue the Standardbred season as they host the annual Thrillyard 200, featuring the 19th edition of the $200,000 Dan Patch invitational Standardbred race on Saturday, June 2. An evening full of extreme racing, free fireworks, giveaways and fun has quickly become one of Indiana’s signature Standardbred racing events.
The ‘extreme’ theme will take center stage on the track as nine of North America’s fastest Standardbreds go to post for the $200,000 Dan Patch Invitational. In what may be the most competitive field ever assembled, the 19th installment of Hoosier Park’s featured Standardbred event will highlight the 14-race program. Golden Receiver, the number-one ranked horse in North America, headlines the talented field as he looks to make amends for last year’s third place finish. Driver Dave Palone, who is approaching the world record for all-time career wins, has been enlisted to drive Golden Receiver. The evening will also be complimented by several divisions of the Indiana Gold Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing colts and fillies with more than $430,000 in purse money to be distributed.
Racing fans will have the opportunity to participate in a special wager offered for the Dan Patch Invitational, which is slated as the 12th race of the night and has an estimated post time of 9:10 p.m. EST. A $25,000 guaranteed Superfecta pool will be available as part of the special Strategic Wagering Program. The wager will have a minimum bet of 10 cents, and is available through the cooperative efforts of the United States Trotting Association, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino and the Indiana Standardbred Association.
In conjunction with the racing action taking place on the track, Hoosier Park will be filled with activities off the track as well. Guests will have the opportunity to take a helicopter ride around Hoosier Park’s 7/8 mile track for $10 along with free ‘Xtreme’ interactive family fun games such as a bounce house wrecking ball, bungee trampoline jump and bungee racing.
