Hoosier Park Hosts Annual ‘Gift & Game’ Event Supporting the Leadership Academy of Madison County’s Season of Giving Gift Fair

Hoosier Park to Offer ‘Give $10 Get $10’ Promotion and Gift Fair Fundraising Match

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will once again host Gift & Game, an annual charitable promotion supporting the Leadership Academy of Madison County’s Season of Giving Gift Fair. Guests may donate $10 to support the gift fair, and receive $10 in free slot play as a thank you for their contribution. The program will run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Nov. 28 through Dec. 31.

Guests 21 and older wishing to participate in Gift & Game can make a $10 contribution at Club Centaur Rewards from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. during the promotional period. The money raised will go towards Hoosier Park’s Season of Giving fundraising match of $7,500. In 2016 alone, Hoosier Park guests raised a record total of $9,680.

The Season of Giving Gift Fair is a project developed by the Leadership Academy of Madison County with a goal of bringing various organizations to one community exhibition on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Mounds Mall in Anderson. The annual fair gives shoppers a choice of charitable holiday gifts to honor family and friends while supporting local charities and non-profit organizations in a festive atmosphere.

Season of Giving Gift Fair visitors can purchase various gifts like $10 in school supplies for children in need, $25 for a cab ride for a family escaping domestic violence, or $50 towards providing meals to fight hunger. Each donation is wrapped in holiday packaging and includes a holiday card with a description of the organization.

“Participating in the Leadership Academy of Madison County this past year has been such an inspiration,” said Ron Parker, Hoosier Park’s director of mutuels. “Being involved in the gift fair makes me proud to be a part of this community. Season of Giving is a wonderful opportunity to honor a family member or friend with a really special gift, and at the same time help a family in need during the holiday season.”

Shoppers will receive personalized cards to deliver to the person they’re honoring with a donation. Participating local charities are Alternative Inc., Hopewell Center Inc., Madison County Humane Society, Second Harvest Food Bank, Dove Harbor, Madison County Literacy Coalition, Anderson Education Foundation, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Anderson Young Ballet Theatre, Beauty for Ashes, CASA Inc., Gruenewald Historic House, Helping Hands Food Pantry, House of Hope, Madison County Community Health Center, Madison County Dramatic Players, Salvation Army, The Christian Center, United Way of Madison County, and Leadership Academy of Madison County.

“Our team at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino places great emphasis on being outstanding community partners. We’ve had the pleasure of working side-by-side with the Leadership Academy of Madison County for several years now, and the Season of Giving Gift Fair is one of our favorite events,” said Kiersten Flint, vice president of advertising and communications for Centaur Gaming and leadership academy and board of directors’ alum. “We’re certainly thankful for the generosity of our guests at Hoosier Park, and for what our friends at the Leadership Academy do for our community.”

Hoosier Park will also host a charity slot tournament every Sunday from Nov. 26 through Dec. 17. Participants may donate a new, unwrapped children’s toy, valued at $10 or more, or a minimum cash donation of $10 to play in each tournament. All toys will go to local charitable organizations to benefit area children in need. All cash donations will go directly to the Leadership Academy’s gift fair.
