Holiday Promotions at Hoosier Park Raise Record Donations for Local Non-Profits

Over $12,000 Donated through the Gift & Game Promotion and Charity Slot Tournament

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino generated record donations during the 2017 holiday season with their annual Gift & Game fundraiser, and annual $10,000 Charity Slot Tournament. The programs raised more than $12,000 in cash and toys for area non-profits, with $7,500 directly benefiting the Leadership Academy of Madison County’s (LAMC) Season of Giving Gift Fair and 1,099 toys collected for children in the community.

Through the Gift & Game fundraising program, Hoosier Park encouraged guests to donate a minimum of $10 to the academy’s Season of Giving Gift Fair on select days through Dec. 31. In return, guests received $10 in free slot play as a thank you for their contribution.

The Season of Giving Gift Fair is a project developed by the LAMC with a goal of bringing various organizations to one community exhibition. The annual fair gives shoppers a choice of charitable holiday gifts to honor family and friends while supporting local charities and non-profit organizations in a festive atmosphere. Hoosier Park’s fundraising match will directly benefit the organizations that participated in the gift fair.

“It’s hard to put into words the spirit of generosity and philanthropy the team at Hoosier Park has for our community,” said Beth Erskine, executive director of the Leadership Academy of Madison County. “Their gifts of time, talent, and treasures have a direct impact on the capacity to serve of countless non-profit organizations in Madison County. Through the Season of Giving Gift Fair alone, gifts to twenty local non-profit agencies had an even greater impact thanks to the partial match. We are grateful for Hoosier Park – our friends and partners.”

Hoosier Park guests also raised 1,099 toys through the $10,000 Charity Slot Tournament. Entry was free with a donation of a new, unwrapped children’s toy or a minimum cash donation of $10 to benefit local children’s charitable organizations.

Between Nov. 26 through Dec. 17, 1,099 toys were collected. All toys went to local organizations to benefit area children in need. All cash donations through the charity slot tournament will benefit various community charities throughout 2019.

“Giving back to our community is an important part of what we do at Hoosier Park, and the holidays are one of the most crucial times of the year for giving,” said Michael Facenda, vice president and general manager of gaming at Hoosier Park. “We appreciate our guests and our team members who generously donate to help these worthy causes during the holiday season. Giving to those less fortunate is what the season is about. We want to make a difference in our community, and I’m proud Hoosier Park and Centaur Gaming is helping to do that.”
