Backstretch Facilities and Services

Dormitories, restrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities are available. Dormitory room contracts are issued by the Race Secretary.

Haircuts are available in Barn 15 in the upstairs lounge. Days and hours will be posted.

Becky's Backstretch Kitchen is available for breakfast, specials, and short orders from early morning to the last race during live racing. The facility closes after training hours on Tuesdays, and is closed all day on Mondays.

Off-track laundry service is provided to the horsemen. E Z Wash picks up from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. every Thursday. They will weigh and record charges at pick-up and returns will be provided the next day (Friday). The pick-up and return is located at the dormitory entrance.

Personal mail will be placed in the mailbox located in the race office vestibule. Packages and items requiring signatures will be kept in the Guest Services Office located at the main entrance to the Grandstand. A notice will be placed in the mail box on the backstretch for these items.

Check Cashing

Horsemen's personal checks must be approved by the general manager, the mutuel manager (or her designate), or the controller. The approved check can be cashed at the Money Room located in the lower level hall of the grandstand facility.

Simulcasting

The clubhouse and grandstand are open seven days a week for simulcasting. Gates open at 11 a.m. Admission is free.

Mail Policy

First class mail will be forwarded when you leave, if a forwarding address is available. After 30 days, the mail will be returned to sender. All other mail is destroyed.

Wagering

All standard wagering is accepted at Hoosier Park. (Win, Place, Show, Daily Double, Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta, 10 cent Superfecta, 50 cent Trifecta, Pick Three, and Pick Four.) Self service machines and mutuel tellers are available during both live racing and simulcasting.

Race Replays — Live Racing

Replays will air following each race. Also, replays will be shown prior to the racing program on the following night.

On Track Dining

Hoosier Park dining options include the Homestretch Restaurant located in the clubhouse and Trackside Terrace, located in the grandstand. The Homestretch Restaurant is non-smoking. Smoking is allowed in Trackside Terrace. Grandstand concessions are also offered.

Gift Shop

Shelbie's Gifts is located inside the main entrance and will be open during all live racing programs. Anyone with a current Indiana Horse Racing Commission license will receive a 10 percent discount.

Track Photographs and Videos

For winner's circle and other photos, contact Jamie Linscott, track photographer, located on the lower level of the clubhouse at ext. 1067. Videotapes may be purchased through the Audio Visual department. All orders must be placed at the guest services center at the main entrance to the Grandstand or through the horsemen's bookkeeper, Karen Baker, at ext. 1265.

Horsemen's Activities

Hoosier Park provides golf and bowling outings for all horsemen. Events are held on Mondays for both Standardbred and Thoroughbred seasons for anyone holding an IHRC license.

A basketball court is provided just south of the dormitories.
